Excitement, anticipation and curiosity – these are the feelings you have when you get on the plane and go on a new journey. Let’s start the adventure!
Our first stop – San Francisco – the city on the pacific coast really has a lot to offer. The houses have lot of charm, through the hilly up & down streets with their cable cars, there is plenty to explore.
We enjoyed the Fisherman’s Wharf down to Pier 39, Chinatown and the area around Lombard Street, which is well located between the districts of Financial District & South of Market. There are many shops and restaurants. As a little tip – on the rooftop terrace of the Macy’s you have a great view over the area.
There is also a beautiful view of the coit tower. A small ascent and you can see up to the bay & Alcatraz prison.
All over the city, hop on hop off buses run around. All stations can be easily reached and if you like, just get off. You can drive the Golden Gate Bridge or exit at the pier and discover a lot. For this city you should definitely have good shoes and even if you are in California, always have a jacket with you. Through the arctic wind that passes there, it is always a bit cooler. We have already seen a lot at the beginning of our America Roadtrip and were blessed by the impressions we collected.
Hint: The dish ‘Clam Chowder’ should be tried in the port of Fisherman’s Wharf. There you can also watch seals while chilling.
